Rachel W. Mak

Multilingual Educator, Creator & Lifelong Learner.

My career began in the fast-paced world of branding, marketing and entrepreneurship.

For years, I was driven by business success, but eventually I felt the weight of burnout and a deeper longing for purpose. That turning point led me to step away and reimagine what truly matters.

Today, I bring that experience into education. I work in a school in the UK, create Mandarin learning resources, and build communities of Francophiles. Along the way, I discovered a passion for helping people connect with languages, human values, and new ways of thinking.

I believe education is more than academic success. It’s about nurturing human values — empathy, curiosity, creativity, and joy — so that the next generation grows not only smarter, but also kinder and more capable of shaping a better world.

What I’m Working On

Share my perspectives on multilingual education, passion, and the true meaning of life.

My Projects

I’m also a multilingual mum (speaking 6 languages), raising my son trilingual.

Learning languages keeps reminding me how powerful — and fun — it can be. It’s inspired me to write a book, create YouTube videos, learn French, and build mackey-dokey, a brand that helps kids learn Mandarin Chinese more easily.

📚Book Writing

I’m currently working on my first book — a reflection on passion and inner happiness, inspired by my journey from entrepreneur to educator.

YouTube & Podcast

On my Podcast and YouTube channel, I share insights on language learning and personal growth, while documenting my French language learning journey and multicultural background. It’s a space to connect with learners around the world.

French learning

As a lifelong learner, I’ve fallen in love with the French language and culture. My goal is not only to master the language, but also to embrace the French way of life — bringing l’art de vivre into everyday moments, and finding joy in experiencing its culture, history, and daily life more deeply.

mackey-dokey

mackey-dokey is my creative brand dedicated to making Mandarin learning fun and accessible for kids. With thoughtfully designed printable resources for teachers and parents — available in both Traditional and Simplified Chinese — it brings the language and culture to life.
